Happy Beginning of the Holidays!!

Hello everyone!

We all know Thanksgiving is just around the corner...and then of course Christmas is following right on behind it. But no matter what you celebrate or how you celebrate it, I wanted to say that I hope everyone has happy holidays, and spends some time with their families!
I get to return to Neenah on Wednesday, my brother is picking me up from campus right after my last class at 3. :)))
Words cannot express how excited I am to get home and see my family, lay in my bed, hug my dog, and see my friends off at other colleges.
It will be so nice to be reunited with the Mercury crew. I hope everyone is well.

Until then, I'm off to continue working my endless amounts of homework! Keep breathing everyone and have a great rest of your week!

Happy Thanksgiving (to be).

Sweater weather.

Hello all!
I hope everyone is having a good Monday, and enjoyed some good sleep last night!

I wanted to take this time to make sure everyone who is feeling the cold weather these days, is bundling up! This morning, (sometime around 3 or 4 am) we had our first snowfall, and I woke up to a very, very cold, brisk day. Make sure to keep warm, everyone! And stay healthy, especially if you're working as hard as us college kids are these days!

I thought I'd make a quick list of all the things I love for the cold weather.
- SWEATERS. Hence the title of this post - I just love wearing my large, over sized sweaters while studying in my dorm, or the student center.
- HOT Starbucks drinks! Especially a hot, chai tea latte with whip. It's delicious! For the holidays, Starbucks is also offering fun drinks like the caramel brulee latte, and the eggnog latte!
- Scarves, and hats! Making sure to wear these extra layers while walking to class - it really helps!
- Boots - With thick socks. Right now I've been loving wearing tights with boots and a dress or skirt. Don't forget a jacket!
- Hot soup - Need I explain my theory behind this?
-Anything with cinnamon. - Just such a warming scent and taste, especially in cakes, cookies and drinks.

These are all I could come up with for today! I'm sure there will be more very soon!
Stay warm and keep breathing!

Going abroad.

Here are some pictures from Cairo, Egypt...where I hope to be studying abroad to very soon. Fingers crossed!

An overdue hello.

Hello all,
I apologize for taking so long to post! It's been crazy these days, I know it's no excuse! Here are some exciting updates!
I had midterms for my first semester, and so far so good! I am getting mostly A's and a B+...which is awesome, even though it has been a lot of work to get to this point. I will be registering for classes next week, and I am beginning to create my four year plan for my college degree! It's an exciting process, but also extremely terrifying.
I have changed my major, and with these changes, I have people on my side, and I finally know what I want...what I need to do with my life.
I plan to double major in Global Studies and International Journalism with a minor in Middle Eastern studies! I couldn't be more excited, as I get to take Arabic at Macalester next year. It will probably be the hardest class of my life, but I need this right now.

There is so much happening with my personal life...yet at the same time, nothing is moving forward at all with my friends from high school, I think it's strange, yet exciting and great how everyone is finding their paths... I just wish the best for all of them. All of them.
As for me, I love to be keeping busy! Whether it be with the endless amount of papers I am writing, or working for the Oracle, my school's newspaper, or making meetings and connections with future colleagues and advisers. It's crazy. Absolutely insane, but I love it.

I can't wait to get home for Thanksgiving, though I'll be working at the Y again over break, and I won't be able to stay for J term, because of work. I'm still excited to get back home for a bit to see friends and family!

For all my family out there who keep up with my blog, if you ever want to write to me I'd absolutely appreciate it, and will try my hardest to write back!!
